Life can be unpredictable. Accidents happen when you least expect them — at home, on the road, or even at work. That’s why we’re proud to provide TruStage Accidental Death & Dismemberment (AD&D) insurance provided by CMFG Life Insurance Company at no cost, just for being a member, adding an extra layer of security for you and your loved ones. In the event of a covered accident, it pays a cash benefit to your family at a critical time. It's money your loved ones may use for monthly bills, debt or any reason.

What Is AD&D Insurance?

AD&D insurance provides a cash benefit in the case of an accidental death. It also pays out if certain serious injuries happen due to an accident—things like loss of eyesight, hearing, speech, or the loss of limbs or digits. Think of it as financial protection for those worst-case scenarios that aren’t covered by health or life insurance. It's protection you and your family can count on.

What We Offer: The $1,000 Complimentary Benefit

As a member of our credit union, you receive $1,000 in Basic AD&D coverage, paid for by us, as long as you claim it. This means:

  • Guaranteed Acceptance - no health questions or medical exams required.

  • The coverage is guaranteed for members 18 and over.

  • It’s the Basic level—there are options to increase protection if you like.

  • Cash payout is often not subject to income-tax.

How Long It Lasts

Once you claim your free $1,000 Basic AD&D coverage remains in effect for as long as you're a member of the credit union. Just stay a member, and you're covered.

Important Limitations to Be Aware Of

It’s important to know what this coverage doesn’t include and when the benefit changes:

  • Death due to natural causes, illness (including viruses), or pre-existing health conditions is not covered under AD&D.

  • Coverage does not apply to members under the age of 18.

  • Coverage is reduced by 50% once a covered person reaches age 70.

Why AD&D Coverage Is Valuable

  • Peace of mind. Even though we hope we never need it, knowing something is there if the worst happens brings comfort.

  • Helps with unexpected expenses. It can help with medical bills, transportation, or other costs after an accident.

  • Complements existing insurance. AD&D isn't a replacement for life insurance or disability coverage, but it fills gaps for specific accident-related issues.

What If You Want More Protection?

If $1,000 isn’t enough, you typically have the option to purchase Additional Coverage. Coverage is available at a cost-effective, monthly rate. Additional coverage could include:

  • Larger benefit amounts

  • Family coverage (spouse, children)

  • Hospital benefit amounts

  • Extra features such as increasing benefit amounts over time or certain bonus benefits in specific situations.

How To Get Started

  1. Check your eligibility: If you’re a member at or above the minimum age, you’re likely eligible.

  2. Visit TruStage.com or call 1-855-612-7910, to claim your Free Coverage.

  3. Review your current coverage: If the Basic $1,000 benefit is enough, you’re done! If not, explore upgrade options.

Free Member Benefits
Because we care about our members, your credit union provides free AD&D insurance — $1,000 in protection, no cost, no hoops. It’s one more way we strive to support you, not just financially—but in all the ways life might throw you a curveball.
